Any DF members with a PCV (bus) driving licence?

My PCV and LGV entitlement is due to run out in May, how do i renew it? i know i need a medical which is no problem but should the DVLA write to me to remind me or do i do it myself?

DVLA usually send out reminders, but they have been known to miss out people, usually issued around 2 months in advance.

You don't need CPC to keep your licence, just need that part of things if you are looking for work though and you're employed as a driver being your primary job title. Personally, I think the whole CPC thing is a crock of shit just to make money. Apologies for being OT.

Not worked as a driver for 3 years i just wanted to keep my licence just in case, i haven't done my cpc, as burner says, it's a crock of shit imo

My HGV1 ran out nearly 10 years ago mate, and whilst I haven't renewed it, I could do so by contacting DVLA and getting them to send the paperwork through and getting the medical so it's not like something you have to do within a specific time period.
