    No excuse for what he did, gross misconduct and all that. But it's a shame to see the last of a "non pc" personality from a main stream show.

    He'll be back for sure - BBCs loss but I don't see they had a lot of choice he was already on a final warning and physically assaulting a colleague is pretty solid grounds for gross misconduct dismissal in any company code of conduct - they were damned if they sacked him and damned if they didn't - he could also have played a blinder knowing his current contract was almost up and maximised his publicity and value by doing what he did
