Things kind of slowed down on the ROM front for Microsoft, at least in terms of news, but we finally have a Xiaomi Mi4 running the Windows 10 for Phones Technical Preview caught on camera.

Made possible by the ROMs that the software titan promised for Android devices.

This is part of Redmond’s strategy to provide these users with a chance to take Windows 10 for a spin on their handsets and try out the new mobile operating system. Still no set date for the release of this ROM, but chances are that it will not be long before it goes live.

The clip in question has been posted by the folks over at an Italian website, though the video itself comes from China.

Take a look at the video below:

Looks neat.

The important bit here is that Windows Phone runs very well on the smartphone, without any lags, bugs or issues. Everything works smoothly, and if Microsoft can find a way to create a universal ROM for some of the more popular Android devices, then the company may have something going here.

And although there are users across the globe that have imported the Xiaomi Mi4, it is worth a mention that this partnership between Microsoft and Xiaomi is only limited to China.

Users outside the country will not be provided access to the ROM, at least not officially.
