A new Windows 10 version? Why not. Microsoft’s new operating system is set to be available on a wide range of devices, from PCs and tablets to smartphones and even gaming consoles.
And now we can widen the range a bit.

A job advertisement from Redmond seems to indicate that the software titan is secretly developing another edition of Windows 10 — one that would work on the Surface Hub, the new hardware due for release later this year.

Regular Microsoft watcher h0x0d caught this post on the Microsoft Careers website, seeking a principal program manager to contribute on a new edition of Windows that will enable core experiences.

This is what the ad reads:
“Our ideal candidate has a proven track record of building products, experience in large scale systems such as Windows, and experience shipping complex systems that require coordination across many teams.”
So apparently, this version of Windows 10 is all about the big screen experience, and for devices with large screens. Remains to be seen whether this is a toned down variant of the OS (like the one that powers the Xbox One console) or a full-fledged one.

All signs indicate the former, but we’re sure to have more details on this soon.

The Surface Hub, meanwhile, was unveiled for the first time in January, at a special Windows 10 event. It comes in two versions, 84-inch and 55-inch, with 4K displays that offer multi-touch and pen input support onscreen making collaboration easier.
