Hey All , hoping someone here has a little mechanical knowledge .

My Van is having some intermittent issues when starting :

Turn the Ignition on all the dash lights are fine , but there is nothing when trying to start the engine no clicking sounds engine does not even attempt to turn over.

It will however bump start without issue .

So would any one be able to suggest if this would be either a Starter motor Issue or the actual Ignition switch ?

It is very intermittent , can go days without issue but then this occurs for a few days once it starts.

Any help appreciated , my code ready does not show any codes either ..

lots of things it could be, loose battery terminal, loose/bad earth on engine, bad connection on terminals on starter, starter motor, rear of ignition switch, battery, immobilizer dicking about, loads of keys on the ring interfering with the transponder.

when it doesn't turn over does the engine light flash on the dash ?
yes, immobilizer/key issue

Have you got 12v on the Lucar/exciter terminal on the starter when key in start position, (the small one)
yes, then check big terminal for security and cleanliness, check also engine earths for tightness and cleanliness and battery battery terminals for cleanliness and tightness.
no then could be wiring issue, from ignition barrel imob, or chaffed wire.

if all that is good then it really only leaves a starter, get someone to hold the key in the start position and give the starter a good hard tap with a hammer, if it turns then it is a starter.
