Stating the obvious here, Gabe, but the head of the Windows Insider program weighed in on the icons included in Windows 10, saying that what we are seeing is still the early UI.

Meaning, the user interface refinements will be left till later in the development cycle.

Just to get you up to speed, not everyone is pleased with the new icons released with build 9926. Screenshots that leaked subsequently showed a rather simple looking Recycle Bin icon that Microsoft had put in.

Users actually started criticizing the company for what they termed a bland approach to desktop icons.

But the software titan has been quick to point out that what we’ve seen so far in preview builds is just a very early user interface — and a lot of things could change before Windows 10 reaches the final stage.

In the words of Gabriel Aul:

@Angry_Aman You're seeing early UX, we're still working on many things, including icons. Your feedback helps us know where to focus.

So basically, if you don’t like these new icons in Windows 10, then the best way to get yourself heard is to send feedback to Microsoft.

Redmond has made it a point to confirm that they take each and every bit of feedback they receive via the various channels into account, and analyze it in detail, collectively and individually.

If you do love these new icons, though, then well, just keep your fingers crossed.
