Cheap scanner for most makes.

Brought this from dx, it came in less than 2 weeks and although I've only used it a handful of times seems very good.

It's a knock off delphi scanner that does not only check engine, it also does most other systems, climate, abs, auto box, body control modules etc.

I must admit to being quite impressed, gives current data for items being tested and can code in injectors and the likes. Not something I'd like to do with a bootlegged kit just incase, never the less the option is there.
You can buy one of the elm scanners for about a fiver but they are limited to what you can do this seems very decent for the price.
Works out as about as much as garage to plug in.
That said the kit is only as good as the operator if you haven't a clue leave it to the professionals as you could get in to a whole world.of hurt if you corrupt ecu data or change security settings.

That device is also sold with different casing, sw and branding as Autocom and Wurth WoW.

Great cheap piece of kit to allow a laptop to be plugged into a lot of cars.

I've only ever used the Autocom version a handful of times, I was impressed with the coverage, and that it didn't just cover fault codes and live data, but it also covered things like actuations (for example manually forcing an EGR valve open/closed to check it works), and even adapting new parts (e.g. coding new injectors or fitting new DPF).

I was extremely disappointed with the live data side however, could only look at one item at a time. Pretty useless as I was trying to look at RPM and Fuel rail pressure at the same time in that instance.

However it is a ridiculous deal for that price.

Arrived yesterday.

Was surprised it came with a DVD with a video that clearly showed how to set it up and the software supplied actually works.

Tried it on a car and it found all systems.

Quite possibly the best bargain of my entire life!

Although only the interface arrived, no sign of the free watch

Glad it landed, quite a useful bit of kit and defo a bargain, fitted an egr valve on a Renault migraine diesel last week and used it to reset the adaptions worked no problems.

I f�cked around for a few hours trying to make bluetooth work, turns out this version doesn't have it.

should have read the small print.

also the led on the obd plug end is quite useful.

Plugged it up to a BMW F10 5 Series and I was shocked it actually communicated with all the modules. Unfortunately the codes in the engine weren't recognised but everything else seemed to be properly displayed.

I opened mine up for a laugh just to look at the quality of the internals. It's the older 2 pcb type rather than the later 1 pcb types but I'm not bothered at all for the price.

I thought mine didn't have the flight recorder function as you can't feel a switch when pressing the button, and they were cheaper than I could possibly imagine.

However the switch actually is there, if you rip off the red cover you can see a microswitch, but the plastic hasn't been properly designed to press the switch when you press the button.

Thanks OC for bringing this thread back up because I had missed it. That would be really useful for me. My mate has a Snap on scanner at his garage business which I have full and free access to but this would be handy for my own tool kit at home. From your comments I gather this is definitely worth the money? (">

Apparently the single PCB version is better, and obviously Bluetooth is nice to have to avoid having to plug in a cable. However the device in the original post has worked perfectly on the few times I've used it, and even it if is only actually used for one job it has paid for itself.

These interfaces can be used with Autocom, Delphi and Wurth sw, but there can be a little fiddling involved to get a usable system.

I would say it is approximately equal to Snap On scanners (not including the high end stuff with built in scopes). You can read/clear fault codes, look at live data, actuate components, adapt new parts like injectors, perform jobs like DPF regens, etc. On some cars Snap On will be better, on some cars this may have the edge.

However if using Autocom or Delphi sw, we are stuck to late 2014 vehicles. If using Wurth we can communicate with cars up to early 2015.

The advantages I can say one of these has over Snap On:

If you use Autocom or Delphi software with it, you can also diagnose trucks (although I haven't actually tested mine on a 24v vehicle as I don't work on them).
If you use the Wurth WOW software, you get access to heaps of technical data as well as the diagnostic functionality.
