Sheraton in Hong Kong is nice I have stayed there, The Shangri-La, Grand Hyatt and The Peninsula they make top hotels here look like the Holiday inn, I would give you some advice and places to visit but it depends if you are going as a single man or family man as both holiday experiences are totally different.

As a single guy Big Spender sauna in Tsim Sha Tsui I think, avoid the gogo bars they will fleece you so if you are looking for a nice lady go to the after bar discos used to be strawberries but you would have to ask a helpful taxi driver what the main one is now, Bangkok is opposite to Hong Kong you do want to go to the gogo bars and it is far cheaper than Hong Kong, go to Soi Cowboy and a load of other great gogo bars there plus some nice places to eat, avoid tuk tuk's and motorbike taxis unless you are feeling very brave and I always found Thailand a far nicer and cheaper experience than Hong Kong.

Macau was really good the casinos are a bit shit as they all play bacarat which is all luck based, came away a little better off though so not too bad there. Ther are a couple of clubs in the hotel complex, one in city of dreams picked up a cpl fitties. Lisboa hotel on the other island has a fair few women abouts but they don't seem to interested in fat white westerners

Hong Kong I only spent one day in was good but pretty expensive as to be expected I guess, big buddha temple is worth a visit in the daytime - cable car was broken when I went so had to bus it up to it. Nice place though.

Loads of whores around between the various casinos in Macau and a few knocking around in the casinos. The Buungee jump thing it was pissing it down the only day I went there (ahem I shit my pants when I got up there!)

Oh if you are stopping at the Sheraton make sure to sign up the the members thing it is free, rolled up and went straight to the members club lounge to check in so no queues at all and you can get free breakfast and free drinks at some point in the evening made good use of the free drinks, basically a free bar just go and get beers or wine or get them to make gin and tonics or whatever.

    Thanks to prezzy

Any tips on local sims? I need to have 4G data for emergency work and I will use that to skype home as we do not have wifi where we are staying. This looks like what I need, 8 day pass with 5GB data included for under £10 if I am reading it correctly:

Yes thats it - just rock up to the club lounge desk and check in / out there should be no queues unlike normal check in. When I got to the hotel in Macau the check in queue was like 100 people deep, club lounge desk was empty.

Apparently we are staying in a very small village in HK and they don't get broadband until Dcember but they have good 4 g coverage. That sim I linked to is a bargain but I will also look at Three UK as would be good to have sorted it ahead of time

Ok so our plans are nearly finalised, we are now no longer staying in the village as its about 45 mins from the centre and apparently taxis can be tricky to get there so we will stay there one night but hotels for the rest.

We are in Causeway Bay for 3 days, then bangkok for 2 nights, then staying at Disney for a night (our flight lands back in HKG late and we go to Macau the next day so made sense to stay on the island), suite at the sheraton for three nights, one night in the new territories then last night at the skycity at the airport.

Now i need to work out what we 'must do'. I have been in touch with Sam's Tailor to see about getting a tailored suit, are there better tailors out there? I don't want to spend too much time going for fittings.
As we are going to Disney, is there any point going to Ocean Park too?
on our last day we will visit Big Buddah and the cable cars.
What should we do in Bangkok? I liked the idea of a shooting range.
in Macau we will visit the tower, is there anything else we should see?
we should go to Victoria peak for a sunset.

Trying to make the most of it as I don't get to go away, second time out of Europe so should be awesome.

    Hi
When you are in the new territories I would catch the early morning train across the border to Shenzhen and go to the Huaqiangbei markets, they are amazing. When you get into station you will need to buy VISA and you must pay in RMB not HK Dollars, I think for UK citizen its about 450RMB

    cheers

Got back 5am this morning, didn't have time to do all I wanted but had an awesome time. Only spent 3 nights in Macau which was enough as there didn't seem to be many bars around and the people I was with weren't gamblers, the clubs were ok, it happened to fall on the Macau grand prix but didn't go to it, clubs were full of the pit crews though. The suite at the Sheraton was amazing!

Hong Kong was great, stayed on Lantau a couple of nights, HK island for two nights and in the new territories one night at my friends house. Two nights on Khaosan road in Bangkok too which was pretty messy.

Didn't realise how cold it had got in England!
