    Default dash cam upgrades

I currently own a smartwitness device it set me back over £200 and I'm super disappointed because unless you tailgate someone on a perfect summer day you can't read the reg!
I'm looking to replace it asap (ideally order today)
I need advice on what to buy, my requirements:
MUST be able to read number plates!!
    1080p
WiFi would be nice but not necessary as I don't often have access to a computer to download footage so it might risk getting written over
Must be mac compatible if it's not WiFi

Twin system or suitably priced single system that I'll just buy two of.

I've researched into lukas duo WiFi (9750) and panorama x2. They're quite pricey and I want confirmation from reliable sources that they will clearly show number plates before i fork out for them.

    Single systems
Transcend pro 200 looks appealing but again I'm concerned over clarity.
    Mini 803.
Amazingly I've read tonnes of reviews of these devices but not one mentions plate legibility!

    Thanks in advance...

I've had a nose but again number plate legibility isn't really discussed and I'm hoping someone with a good knowledge of the above products (reverend?) will advise or suggest a suitable alternative

I have just got the 0805 e prance on amazon for around £75 over all happy with it not to expensive and can easily read number plates but some times it is hard to read passing cars due to motion blur but at lights and where cars are stationery very easy to see.
one thing to watch is where to place it as reflections on windscreen can be a bit of a pain

This is the thing, a few days ago someone didn't want to wait (my right of way) behind a car parked on his side of the road and despite me pulling in as much as possible he gave my wing mirror a right whacking and smashed it. He put on his brake lights so I got out the car then he drove off. I didn't take the reg as I thought my camera would have picked it up. It didn't so I need something that will be legible when moving.

Anyone got any other advice on this? Was hoping to have ordered something by now but I really don't want to buy something and find it's crap...

I can see now why it's so important for him to research dash cams. If his attitude is this short on an online forum, he must be a fantastic driver...
