Default Life hacks, tips to make things easier.

Stick little snippets of info in here that you find helpful and think others may.

Lets try to keep it proper not like a viz page.

Ever brought something off ebay and want to know the postcode so you can pick it up? if you can't get in touch with the seller or just want to know where it is before bidding.

http://www.shiply.com/miv2/ Stick the item number in here and it'll show the sellers postcode.

Kids that are learning to be in a big bed for the first time put one of them poolnoodles under the bottom sheet, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Swimming-poo.../dp/B00JKM7XQI no more rolling out.

An elastic ban stretched over a paint tin is idea for removing excess paint off a brush with no mess, it drip back in to the tin.

Instead of having a box of wires all tangled together, put each wire in a toilet roll tube and stand it on end in the box,

If you need to light up a tent, house after a power cut, etc, instead of using your phones camera flash on its own as a direct beam, switch it on, put it face down and put a bottle of water on top its displaces the beam, remove the label for best effect.

Never tried this one but apparently if you like your wine cold, instead of ice, freeze some grapes, no more watered down wine.

If like me you have sausage fingers and fine motor skills are difficult, to knock little panels pins/nail in without bashing your fingers is use a clothes peg to hold the nail.

If you have taken something apart kids toy etc, and dropped one the tiny screws stick one of the wifes tights on the end of the hoover pipe and have a suck around.

Want ice cold beer asap? Put ice cubes in a container full of water, add salt to lower the melting temperature, the ice cold water surrounds the cans/bottles better than solid cubes.

Loads here if anyone wants to copy/paste the best ones!

I've seen a few variants of this over the years that someone might find useful. Or for those of us that dabble with things at home, you might do what I did and think Ah I could use that for X

I add a touch of essential oils (i use the ones you buy with 4-5 long sticks in) to the filter in my dyson so when i vacuum it fills the house with a lovely smell.
Just a small drop is enough in the heppa filter.

Wife adds aftershave (something cheap-ish) like a CK or Lacoste into the water for ironing....

That's what my folks have done in portugal instead of replacing every plug on every appliance

When eating shelled pistachio nuts and you come across on that is not fully cracked and is difficult to open you can use half the shell of a previously consumed nut to crack the troublesome shell open.

If you have loads of cards in your wallet to stop them cracking along the magnetic strip, put them in your wallet upside down ;-)
