Entertainer Keith Harris dies at 67



Entertainer Keith Harris, best known for performances with his puppet Orville, has died, aged 67.

His agent Robert C Kelly confirmed the news on Twitter.
"Sad to announce death from cancer of my client, dear friend and great talent, Keith Harris," he wrote.
Harris had his own BBC One Saturday night programme The Keith Harris Show and had a hit with his Orville song I Wish I Could Fly.

I saw him drive away from the hospital just the other day and thought he was looking old.

Saw him at Blue Dolphin Haven last Summer, looked aged but he did say he was in remission from cancer

I worked with in the 80s when he did pantomime at the Theatre Royal Hanley.
All round nice guy.

I used to see him in a bar near South Pier in Blackpool when I was up that way visiting my parents. Seemed an ok chap, and he did like chatting up the girlies.

It's a shame. I suppose us kids of the 70-80s will start seeing tv celebs from our 'golden' era start popping their clogs, such is life. I've delivered Candles to a shop Bob Calgees owns on a number of occasions. Feels very strange when it's someone you watched on the TV years ago!

Sad to see a nice guy go, but I cant say he's going to be a legend in entertainment for me.
