In one last bit of BUILD 2015 housekeeping, a secret binary code message may explain the reasons why Microsoft decided to skip Windows 9 and move straight onto Windows 10.
The company has not exactly talked about it much.
But that’s not to say Microsoft doesn’t [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] about it, every now and then.
The recently concluded BUILD developer conference provided Redmond with another opportunity to do so in front of a geeky audience. And the company did not disappoint. Joe Belfiore took the stage last week wearing a T-shirt with a Windows logo.
A Windows logo made of, you guessed it, binary code.
As reported [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], it was hiding a secret message concerning Windows 10, and it did not take people long to decode the message. Windows Phone developer Kevin Gosse found out what the shirt was actually reading.
Each part of the Windows logo was hiding a different message.
Here they are:
- There are 10 types of people in the world
- Windows 10, because 7 8 9.
- Congrats on being one of the first.
- Windows Insiders help us develop the future. Talk to us @ Windows
Yup, still doesn’t explain why Microsoft skipped Windows 9, and moved directly to Windows 10.
It was, and still somewhat remains a sudden jump — even though the more one hears and reads about Windows 10, the more it sets in.
No matter the reason, Microsoft’s new operating system is now in the advanced stages of development, with talk that the company has settled on the feature set, and is now simply refining and optimizing the various aspects of Windows 10, ahead of its launch later this summer.
Maybe we’ll get a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] someday, with some [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] on the Windows 9 skip.
Until then, more such secret messages, please.
