Each year a mate of mine and I do a bit of a trip around Scotland. We head straight up to Durness and Cape Wrath, then we choose various places to go generally including a couple of Whisky distilleries in the process. This years trip took us to Durness (Cape wrath didn't go ahead as a storm was due in which would have left us stranded on the peninsula for 4 days ). We then headed on John o' Groats which was boring as fuck. Quick trip over to Orkney for the night then back over and down to Crathie in the Cairngorms. From there over to Skye. 6 days, 1600 miles and lots of Whisky drunk (although not near any point of driving).
I took a number of shots. Many turned out shit as they do. Here's the ones I'm keeping.
Stars over Loch Fada - Isle of Skye. The Old man of Storr in the distance. 30 second exposure @ ISO 800
Star Trails over Loch Fada (opposite direction). 60 x 1 minute exposures @ ISO 800, F/3.5. 10mm
Dornoch Firth
Somewhere I can't remember. It was somewhere on the A838 going North.
A very dramatic change in weather. The reason we were unable to head to Cape Wrath on this occasion. Somewhere on the A838 about 10 miles south of Durness.
Highland Coo's
Somewhere in the Cairngorms
Awesome rainbow in the Cairngorms that was literally at the same height as we were.
Wester Ross (not Westeros although it could be ) - Overlooking Lochcarron
Enroute to Skye
