Need to cut the sugar out my tea, 2 sugars per cup of tea and up to 5 cups a day is a lot of the white poison to put in my body.
Are sweetners any better? I heard they were carcinogenic, any truth in that?

How about one spoon, then half? Got the builders round mine this week so bought 1kg of the stuff and they're not going too heavy on it.

Aspartame is the one most people talk about, usually results in an argument between those for/against it. Not sure about health terms but I know in diets sweeteners are ok.
I don't drink too much tea but I went from 2 sugars to 1 and now it tastes fine.
How about just going cold turkey?
As a kid I used to pile the sugar in, even put it on cereal that was covered in it already!
I remember with Ready Brek I would pile a load of sugar in, then add the milk. Then add some more sugar, stir and then add more on top so it crunched when I ate it...
I cannot remember the day I said 'No More' but now I only use sugar when cooking requires it.
Give it a try... sure the tea will taste 'different' at first but you will eventually get used to it.
If I pick up the wifes tea now that has a sugar in it, I spit it out as it is vile!
Alternatively go for a flavoured tea. I never thought I would but at work now after my morning coffee I go for Camomile or Peppermint tea. All caffeine free too which is another health benefit.

Go cold turkey. I used to have 2 sugars in coffee, one day I just stopped. Now I cant drink it with sugar.
Doesn't take long to adjust.

You could try different blends of tea as well. I went through a phase of different coffee types and machines. Ultimately I prefer tea with the occasional coffee. I bought a strainer that goes in a mug, put the tea in & brew in the mug then take the strainer out. I was always an Assam drinker and still am but one of the nicest is waitrose everyday essentials loose tea. Avoid breakfast tea blends as they're usually weak as piss. My favourite bags are Punjana now relabelled as Thompson's Tea Punjana.

When I started a plan with a personal trainer he suggested that Stevia was the best natural alternative to sugar.

i used to have 2 sugars in coffee but one day it started to taste sickly sweet so i cut the sugars down. started to taste sweet again and cut the sugar down again. now i cant drink it with sugar at all.
Just cut them out half a spoon at a time over a couple of weeks.
Bin the lot mate. Takes a while to get used to it, but it does happen
Took me two weeks with coffee. Two months with tea. Tea was a bitch, i will admit.
Cant drink either with sugar now.
Have never had sugar in tea or coffee. Have accidentally drunk some with sugar in and also been given coffee by someone whom was under the impression I had sugar.. Vile vile vile thing to have in a drink.
Just ditch it entirely.
im down to half a sugar with tea and dont drink coffee, as average i prob have 2 cups a day though
cant stand sweetners and Aspartame is diet drinks is well dodgy i reckon
Another angle to look at it...
You have a baby looking at recent posts. The rule in our house is we eat what we would happily feed the baby.
Obviously that goes out the window sometimes, especially with hot curry etc.. but you wouldn't pile the sugar or salt for that matter in your baby food/drink so you should practice what you preach in that respect.
I went cold turkey with sugar years ago but I still like my first cup of coffee sweet in the morning. I did my research and it seems the most sweeteners and especially refined foods aren't that great for you so I switched to more traditional products. Instead of refined sugar i use honey.
Just go cold turkey. I had three sugars in my tea and then after a trip to the dentist decied to cut it out. Now take no sugar in tea or coffee for over 20+ years
Bought this earlier based on the recommendations on here
