Default Apple Pay UK launch 30th June

Just a heads up for those who didn't see the Keynote last week,

Apple Pay will be launching in the UK on June 30th with support for the following banks/cards :

    American Express
    First Direct
    HSBC
    Nationwide
    NatWest
    RBS
    Santander
    Ulster Bank

    Coming soon :

    Bank of Scotland
    Halifax
    Lloyds Bank
    M&S Bank
    MBNA
    TSB

No mention of Barclays at all here, which is surprising!

You can use Apple Pay in stores with your iPhone 6 and 6+ or with Apple Watch (Which gives support to iPhone 5, 5c and 5s) Use of Apple Pay is also supported in App's with iPhone 6, 6+, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3

It looks like you can use it anywhere that supports contactless for transactions for less than £20 (£30 in September), and for transactions over £20 it can be used in the following :

    Apple Retail Store
    Boots
    BP
    Costa
    KFC
    Liberty London
    Lidl
    M&S
    M&S Food
    McDonalds
    New Look
    Post Office
    Pret
    Spar
    Starbucks
    Sub Way
    TFL (Transport for London)
    Waitrose

I would expect this list to grow over the coming months too as retailers can bypass the £20/£30 limit for Apple Pay should they want to

So, who is going to be using Apple Pay when it launches in 10 days?

    Thanks

    Scottio

I can see this being really cool on the watch, saves any messing around and potentially attracting thieves to your wallet (although I can see muggings occurring for the watch). Not sure I will use it with my phone.

As more apps are released on the watch I am more tempted but my main concern still stands with the durability as I do knock my watch during a normal working day, and the second gen of any new Apple kit tends to be a lot better than the first as they iron out the majority of bugs/design flaws.

I read that the sport has normal glass and the standard has sapphire glass, not sure if that's stronger for knocks or just scratch resistance.

You add it separately to the watch by using the watch app on your phone. Done it and was he same till I launched the watch app and checked out the Passbook and ApplePay item in the first screen.

Added an AMEX to my phone and it shows me all my recent transactions even though I haven't used the phone to pay for anything. Pretty cool, will be more practical when everywhere accepts contactless so I can empty my wallet of some cards.

I have recently switched to a wallet case for my iPhone. I only carry my Drivers License, Fuel Card and Debit Card around with me now. Suppose I can take the debit card out now, as I can get money out of a cash machine and pay for stuff using my iPhone now.

Just tried it to buy my lunch, worked seamlessly with my Apple Watch. I had my card ready for it to fail, but it didn't! Never been so happy to spend money

    This is the future haha

Do ATMs have contactless? I never knew, what limit do they have for withdrawals? I assume they still request the pin so same limits as the card. I have so many cards in my wallet it would be great to be able to leave some behind.

Sorry should have been clearer, with the NatWest app I can get a code to put in a cash machine to withdraw up to £250 a day out
