Car with limited MOT history

Im looking at a car that is 2004 with low mileage.

Apparently full dealer service history.

I have the reg and the V5C number and also the MOT number.

When I do a search on the DVLA mot history site, it shows the car as first registered in 2004 and then only shows the most recent MOT, but none in between - ie nothing showing from 2007 to 2014.

The seller said it had a private plate, but im sure that private plates show up on the mot history check. Sounds odd to me. I wont go and see the car unless i know the mot history.

Anyone know if this is normal or whether its something not normal?

not 100% but pretty sure you can check mot history with private reg also, hpi check might have some mileage or further info

some local councils dont record milage on the taxi test!
