Advice IPS or TN Monitor - for both gaming & Photoshop

I need a new monitor - not too expensive - say a max of £150 spend.

Would you get an IPS panel or a TN panel (24" screen) to do both PC Gaming (Battlefield, Call of Duty etc.) as well as Photoshop?

Obviously a fast response time in ms is required for gaming.

I've read somewhere that a high quality TN display can perform better than a low quality IPS display.

It's over your budget, and probably not available from a UK seller, but you should really look at one of the Korean 27" IPS screens that use the apple screens. I have one that cost me about 250 and its outstanding.

Do you have any links to these mate? I have always been interested in them. Dell make some really good monitors for features such as adjustable height, USB ports etc. but I bet the res is lower. I would love an Apple clone so aluminium housing and borderless glass but they seem to be few and far between.

IPS over TN but as you say it's about budget - you're not in the eizo IPS range

Most of the screens I've seen are very standard looking as its just the internal panel which is the same as the ones apple use, the bezels are usually quite cheap (at least in pictures) but times may have changed since I bought mine. The one I got was a Chinese one, on sale at retail here and its actually beautifully made from heavy 2mm steel, simple and plain. This is kinda helped by the fact the name sticker on the front came off with the protective film when I yanked it off... It was branded KIOIS or something.

Anyway, have a look over on overclockers as theres a dedicated section there, I believe there are some 4k models available now. Some models will over clock to 120hz for silky smooth games if you have the GPU to push it.
