Xbox One advice

Quick question, is there any good reason to opt for the 1TB version over the 500GB + external storage?

Especially as I have an unused 1Tb pocket drive spare

Games take up a lot of space as they install to HDD especially if you buy digital downloads.

Looking at getting one as well . They way I see it is if I get the 1TB model I know I am getting the newer hardware and there have been some changes internally from what I read.

Also even disc games install all the data to the HDD. The disc is only needed for the drm checks.

I dunno, it's a lot cheaper to get 500gb and then get an external 2gb hard drive and use that via USB.
Also useful if you want to play games at a friends.

Alternatively I would wait until the 1tb ssd comes out as that improves performance and comes with the new controller.

As inspector reports if you can wait, then wait. The new elite 1tb comes with a partitioned hybrid ssd. The os is on the ssd part of the drive and MS are reporting it should be 20% faster. That said I love my day one 500gb model (joypads are built terrible imo, knackered my second but waiting for elite)

Yeah pre-ordered elite controller just waiting on release ;-)
