Are you with TALKTALK? I guess you've all heard the news regarding there recent data hack ! well as for them advising you to change your account password, fucking would if I could get there, poxy site is stiill down and as for there free credit check/alerts with Noddle, well I just went to sign up there and right at the end it asks you for your credit/debit card no's and securiity code, FFS isn't this the issue in the first place, C..t's getting hold of your details and giving you a right good rodgering?

They should let people leave as I don't want a contract with a company who can't keep my info safe and then keep lying about the extent of the hack (and the fact they knew about it a week before telling anyone)

You can just cancel your contract with them as they have breached data protection rules.

Get in touch with them and get them to cancel.

Yes that's the big question ! would your details be safe with whoever .....? I've been reading in the news that TalkTalk have been refusing customers to leave unless they pay the early leaving penalties and there are cases of penalties in excess of £300 to leave ! What I find hard to understand and excuse my ignorance but how is your data available online to hackers? why is it not taken and then stored offline on secure encrypted servers? this applies to all companies, I just don't see why it's so readily connected online, maybe I'm not understanding the whole concept .........

Im more surprised at some of the members are not more "aware" of the fact that nearly all the big companies have been "hacked" and continue to be. As far as I am concerned if you know where to look you can aquire the login details to Sky, BT, Talk Talk,Netflix,Virgin,Gmail,Yahoo,Adult friend finder, and the list goes on and on. FFS you can buy netflix login details from ebay for £1 lol. As far as im aware hushmail is one of the few email facilities that is considered "safe". The big difference here is TT kept the CC card details unencrypted....but as far as basic access to people other data goes im afraid that horse bolted long ago. The answer ? Just mad stuff like changing your passwords weekly and unworkable stuff like that....so not much really - keep an eye on your bank balances is about the best advice really.

We can confirm that we do not store complete credit card details on the website; any credit card details that may have been accessed had a series of numbers hidden and therefore are not usable for financial transactions eg 012345xxxxxx 6789
TalkTalk My Account passwords have not been accessed
We now expect the amount of financial information that may have been accessed to be materially lower than initially believed and would on its own not enable a criminal to take money from your account

Personally thinking BT. Was with Plusnet and great cheap Broadband but ended paying a fortune for telephone calls. CAN NOT get the Mrs to stop using the house phone despite have billions of minutes on her mobile. Tried for years.. cant be done so need a provider that do a calls package like BT.

If your bank account gets cleaned out will you still be happy? This is the 3rd time in a year that they have been hacked and they are constantly lying about the breach and keep moving the goal post.
