    Question H.264 CCTV Network Issue

Hi i'm after some help with trying to connect up my cctv system to the net. I have a floureon H.264 network DVR set up and using EE Brightbox router for the internet.
I don't seem to be able to set the system up to be able to view it externally and is most likely down to the way I've got something set up. I am however able tot view the cameras through a App when connected to the home wifi network.

Any help and support is appreciated.

More like port forwarding? What port is the stream accessed on?

Perhaps but the fact that it can be viewed on home wifi network seems to indicate a firewall block from outside networks? simple to test theory, just disable firewall and try, if it makes no difference then delve further .......

Sounds like port forwarding to me, use www.canyouseeme.org to test your external ports and also remember if you don't have a static WAN IP you will need to use dynamicDNS to connect.

Done enough CCTV systems for friends and family to know its a port issue. You need to go into your cctv settings and take note of the port and maybe change it in case it's a port that is used by something else in your house. Also take note of your cctv box internal ip. With those 2 bits of info you then go to your router and go into your port forwarding settings and enter the ip of the CCTV and the port number.
You have two ways of accessing the cctv from a remote location either use your external IP address for eg. 86.176.76.432:641 the :641 is an example port number and needs to be entered. If your home ip changes daily then it would be a good idea to set up a dynamic dns account so you have a fixed address

Http port is for accessing via a web browser, to use the app you use the media port. Also worth changing the http port to 8080 as 80 is commonly used by other services.

At the risk of sounding boring because I have mentioned this before and took a bit of a slapping over it, perhaps it could be the firewall (I really hope it is ..... ), You may have tried it on the pc but have you looked into the firewall of your router? many routers have inbuilt firewalls, so worth taking a look.

    Regards

I allocate a port for each camera re: port 81 camera 1 port 82 camera 2 etc port forwarding can be tricky depending on your router
