Turn off LG G4 notification bubbles

Just got my hands on one of these on PAYG Vodafone at �225. Loving it at the mo and nearly set it up as I like. The only annoying thing Are the notification bubbles that pop up to show the number of messages each app has to read. Does anyone know how to get rid of them (without rooting)?

I'm not sure I know what you're on about.
G4 user here though, so if you want to explain/be a bit more specific I'll try to help. Screenshots even.

Zoots, it's the red badges that show up and show the number of new messages you have. I don't want the badges to show.

Oh, you mean the numerical notifications on the icons.

Got to settings>apps and choose the app you're pissed with. Uncheck 'show notifications'

Did you reboot? It should work, that.

Give Nova Launcher a go.
I know it sounds a bit overkill, but Nova is nice anyway. One of the missing features is badges, so would suit you well. You'd need 'Screen Off And Lock" from the Play Store though as Nova doesn't support tap screen to sleep.
I use Nova because I like the customisation it offers, but it can look just as vanilla.
