I think the way things are done has changed, most things out there now have dedicated forums and people head to those. DF is a great place and has lots of great members and it is the members that keep things going things need to be kept fresh.
I will always come to DF and its the only forum I visit regularly, hobbies come and go detailing, photography is now a job so spending time on talk photography or what ever forum just doesn't happen any more. forums like those are always full of people asking for something without reading stickies or searching for stuff that has already been posted over and over.
I have been looking for a quad copter and been on a few forums and they are the same hundreds of what should I buy posts.
My style/patter doesn't really work on forums now even most football forums have focus on them now if i posted like i used to post i would be shagged by big bubba by now.
The internet sadly is getting over policed.

I agree with all the above, however I'd suggest that most younger inet users grow up with/grew up with Twitter/Facebook, not forums/BBS/ IRC. We, or the majority of us, did. FB is literally second skin to almost everyone. Even a load of those who "don't use it" use it. Forums for the likes of me have been the lifeline of all my younger days, but only this week on a Kodi FB page, the owner was asking us to join the forum and I was like er, nah. What's the point?
Still come here to read and participate regularly, but largely for the community side and our resident photographers photos.
I actually did sign up to a forum this week, but had no response to my intro post and once in, realised the whole forum focuses on one section (piracy) and absolutely nothing else. I can get all that myself with no effort whatsoever so signing up hoping to see a community was a waste.
Yeah, Facebook - but not just Facebook. Facebook users. Why go looking for something that's already there, minus the registration, email verification, effort to have to post etc. Forums just don't appeal to people like they once did. I know this, because I'm one of them people.
Noticed this too. A FB group I use purely for IPTV sub kept having shit because well FB is full of cunts. So every few weeks Paypal would be shut down, FB would get fucked up and they would have to make a new group e.t.c
They made a post saying right we now have a forum, use that not FB, all payments will be handled through it, technical etc
They had hundreds of posts saying WTF what is a forum, its easier on here.. a combination of unable to understand/use a forum or unwilling. In the end they gave up and still struggle on with FB.
Stupid people are ruining the internet. It's being dumbed down for the idiots
Edit: Although you could combine that with over groovy Forum Mods. We ALL know ALL Mods are the best people online. (cough cough)

It's not the same since TWOPLANKS left...
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

I think a mod/admin changed his name after some debate about winter tyres.

Have seen this happen on other forums where some people don't get along where others don't mind em. This is where I feel they should block the user so they don't see their posts instead of moaning to MODS to ban people.
Not sure if this forum has that feature or not. Seems a better way to solve personality clashes to me.
I find from old threads I read on forums not just this one. The threads that often result in a ban are the ones that have me in tears and are a fantastic read.
