    Default New car paint protection?

    Dear all,

I'm lucky enough to have been able to buy a new Nissan Qashqai 1.6 DiG-T (petrol).

I received the car on Thursday and the dealer tried to convince me to send the car to his mate for a Teflon clean. I was a bit dubious so googled it and the first few sites I hot were forums with people saying it's a scam/bad idea, isn't what you think it is etc

What are your thoughts? Also what would be the best paint treatment to give the car to protect the paint? There's a guy on Facebook who advertises Nanolex si3D detailing. Would this be a good option?

    Thanks!

Get them to throw it in for free or get it done at an independant detailer which should work out cheaper than the dealer rip off prices.

    Thanks to beerman

All new cars have the option of ceramic paint protection now. It's how the sales reps bump up thier commision. Unless it's free you really don't need it. A couple of times through the car wash and its gone. Putting it on the upholstery is a bit of a farce. I've had it on my last three new cars but one fart on the seat and it's gone.

They use teflon on seats? I'd just buy some crotch skard.

Thanks for the input guys. The independent guy is pretty steep but I've seen his work on his site and the guy has worked miracles.

€700 to treat the paint (3 layers), all the glass, alloys and interior. This is the full, all bells and whistles package with full paint restoration, ceramic this, protection that bla bla.
€500 for a single layer, inside out.
€350 for a single layer only paint.

on drugs these car dealer guys, get a tub of collinite 476 £15-20 !! that will protect the bodywork far better than any nanotec / diamond / showroom crap and should only need doing every 3 months or so and when stops beading after a wash then time to reapply

if you want to enhance bodywork rather than just protect the loads of good waxes from swissvax , zymol etc etc

sure theres pics on here of my detailed car using collinite

interior ill have a look later as not detailed anything in ages but few others on here might know

beading even after car snow foam thenwashed was waxed about 2 months before this

Thanks bud, the problem is I have no experience of waxing a car and don't want to end up with a swirled, uneven, messy job. Otherwise I'd be on that Collonite stuff like a shot

Sod that ! It looks like you'd need 50 bottles of it to cover the average car.
