Buying a phone in Thailand

I'm off to Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam in October and fancy buying a new phone over there. I quite fancy buying one of those Chinese copies but don't know much about them or whether they will work over here. Some one said they don't have 4G.

Which one should I go for?

Why not just buy a Chinese phone on ebay, you can get one with 4G that works here. Cubot, Elephone, Ulefone are all branded Chinese phones look here

Wouldn't I get it cheaper in Thailand though? My mate mentioned a big shop over there you can buy them. MBK or something like that.

Deffo NOT cheaper over there. MBK is a big shopping centre and the phone stalls are on Level 3. HOWEVER they are ALL rip off merchants. Order online from your home.

Went there a few years ago. EVERYONE was selling the same stuff at the same price.

I found most people (in Bangkok at least) were waiting to rip you off whether it be products, services or scams so be weary!

Agree MBK was an experience, but not worth any money. All Chinese knock offs can be delivered for far less, with PayPal protection

If your gonna get copies get em in the UK with some sort of protection. Only a complete TOOL will buy a phone from Asia
