BBC News Brexit: Nicola Sturgeon says a second Scottish independence vote highly likely

Scotland's first minister has said a second independence referendum is "highly likely" after the UK voted to leave the EU.
Nicola Sturgeon said it was "democratically unacceptable" that Scotland faced the prospect of being taken out of the EU against its will.
She said the Scottish government would begin preparing legislation to enable another independence vote.
Scotland voted in favour of the UK staying in the EU by 62% to 38%.
The UK as a whole has voted to Leave, prompting David Cameron to announce he would stand down as prime minister by October.
At a news conference at Bute House, Ms Sturgeon said the Scottish cabinet would meet on Saturday to discuss its next steps.

Oh look. You had your chance and your own constituents decided against then. Little Lego Woman against again.

UK is a democracy and you elected to take part so unlucky.

This may be the end of the UK. I wouldn't be surprised if NI wanted out of the Union too. Well, at least we'll be able to align our Olympic and Football teams under the same great flag of some Turkish bloke who slayed imaginary creatures.

Indeed. NI feeling seems to be the same as the Scots. Ireland will engulf them.

Scotland is too weak to be independent in the long run, oil prices have plummeted and the Scottish economy would not be competitive in the EU. Second, Scotland would be forced to accept Euro as a currency (as all new members now are) as it wouldn't be able to continue using the Pound, and the Euro would weaken it even more.

For better or worse, we're in this shitty situation together

Indeed but they are convinced they are a viable concern. Think the governance process for them entering Europe as their own entity would show hen the true picture though.

I agree, but if last night proved anything, it's that rationality seems to have no place in politics at the moment. Scotland will probably vote to leave the Union and probably vote to join the EU, regardless of what the truth is.

Sturgeon is a poisoned dwarf and is not worth listening to.

As for this being the end of the UK - what a totally dramatic and unjustified statement. Nothing is going to happen in the short term and if anything things will get better medium/long term.

All that has happened today is some twat in Parliament has thrown his teddy out the pram because it didn't go his way, so he quits. Great attiitude Dave. He is the Prime Minister and should listen to the people as part of the Democracy, not fucking quit when things don't go his way.

Personally very glad we are out and glad he's going.

I sound like a bloody Cameron supporter these days which bloody irks me no end. I think he has done the correct thing in resigning. He told the people and his own party his views and opinions and those people, primarily the people who voted him into office have rejected his vision and as a leader he has essentially failed to lead. I think Osborn should follow suit, the people have rejected him too in huge numbers - You can't lead if nobody is listening.
