As someone who had an avid interest in early hip hop and the transgression from it's roots in the disco/ RnB/ Soul etc. scene, I (so far) have found this new Netflix series worth the watch. Some decent (and others just a bit weird) backstories are interlaced with some good music. It's taken some consulting from the likes of Grandmaster Flash so there is some substance to it's authenticity in ways and goes somewhat deeper than just the music: covering issues such as the social and political climate of the era, and also the graffiti, can't be about hip hop without the tags imo lol.
Only 6 episodes currently available but will be looking out for the next 6 as and when they come out.
