Have just given it the once over with some spray cans (I think it's ford mercury grey) and I really like the effect it's given the cabinet. It's like an aged grey, slightly mottled effect.

The missus is planning to paint a Milky Way galaxy type of pic on the side so I think it's will look great. Ran out of paint now sadly and still have the top and back to do :-(

As rare as white dog shit. I like yesteryears arcade games to live in my memory. The time I had playing (and watching) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade in Leicester when I was 9-10 a few miles from home with a mate, when I should be playing locally; will always live with me. My dad would have killed me back then!

That is a nice looking pinball mate (sell it to me!)

really like what you've done with your cab so far, so much fun once you get the buttons installed (sell me your pinball!)

think the tv looks great aswell, im not sure what your planning to use for a board but I have a Pandoras box 4 here thats an updated version that as has HDMI out
your welcome to try it out on your cab if you would like, im not using it and have no plans to anytime soon, i got it thinking i could wire up a USB controller and play it on my TV but cant be bothered now I have the Raspberry Pi 3 with the emulators

also have an MVS and some games if you want to try that, not sure what you have yourself
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

To be honest I was just going to use the Pi and probably wire up a jamma harness as well as the TV has a scart in and I've wired up jamma to scart before, using a pc power supply.

What is the Pandora's box all about ?

To be honest I've never been a massive neogeo fan, apart from Metal Slug which is epic !

Its a multi-cart essentially, has about 600 arcade games, you just plug it into the jamma edge usually but this one has HDMI out which looks really nice

Probably not but unless it's changed since I last looked (which was probably 10 years ago!) clrmamepro can check/convert as necessary.

Finally my arcade controls are out for delivery.

Ironically half of today will be taken up viewing and cycling to and from the tour of Britain on a local hill and tomorrow we are off to London for a few days so it might even be Monday before I make any further progress:-(

Have you got a collection of hole cutters? And are you using a button map or making it up as you go along?

I used this site to find the one I liked and then printed, taped to the board then make pilot holes ready.

Yeah there are one or two very interesting 8 button layouts to look at there

Which buttons did you go for as those in the kits you posted the link for look a bit naff, also the close up suggests it might suit mounting on a piece of ali fixed to a cut out on your design rather than mdf with those rather shallow looking retainer clips integrated into the buttons, I might have got it wrong and they somehow drop down and pull outwards from behind...if any of that makes sense lol

This is what I would buy, proper microswitched buttonage

Mate, I was int he videogame Museum in Nottingham recently, they had this machine! Good times.

Looking good Malty, wish I had the space for a cab. I used an old NES cartridge to house a PI 2 with retro pi. My dremmel skills are woeful so no pics!

    Thanks to Ganty

Got my button set from Ultracabs . £45 delivered.
Still not got round to making the cab itself. Space is a premium for me so I originally went for a bartop design which I then tweaked a bit.

    /must pull finger out/

You're right in respect of the clips. I hadn't looked closely enough and expected a plastic rear nut but these are a friction fit. I don't think it will be a problem though.

They do feel decent quality however, quite substantial and give a decent click. The joystick in the kit also feels like it will take a fair bit of hammer.
If they turn out to be no good I'll just reorder from elsewhere and relegate these sets to a future project
I'll get them installed and see how everything feels.

This company has an actual contact number, I might ask them next week, I have found my 2 ps3 controllers which will be fine for now
