    painted the screen surround yesterday afternoon and picked up the perspex from the local firm that cut it to size for me. Put it all in just now and I have to say it makes all the difference to the cabinet. Feels much more 'right'.

    Need to glue on my chrome trim (It didn't stay stuck on with the self adhesive backing but I think it's nice enough to stick with. Also still need to cut in some proper speakers as the tv ones aren't great and also I need some way of finishing off at the top and bottom of the perspex where it meets the mdf

    cheers,

    slightly off topic but wondering about button configurations to suit streetfighter and most of the arcade games

    I was thinking :

    4568
    j 1237

    With j as the stick. I got 8 buttons on order + p1 + coin

    I haven't played anything needing more than 3 buttons yet but I think I have mine as

    5 6 7 8
    J 1 2 3 4

    I've no idea if that's right but it wouldn't take 2 minutes to change if needed

    Been playing with bbc micro emulation on my pi, I compiled beebem from source and got it added into emulation station as a menu item which all works great but whilst it's running full speed and smoothly, sound is broken.

    I got it working for one game, once and never before or since and haven't been able to replicate it either.

    Does anyone have any ideas ?

    I was playing Frak last night but also booted JCB Digger and Elite (of course).

    I had a go at building B-Em from source this morning but it didn't go too well, even with all the dependencies met.

    cheers,

    Looks good mate. I've been toying with mounting some controls in a coffee table for another room. The ikea ones are good for it as they are actually mostly hollow

    I've seen the ikea ones but opted for something a little more versatile, its basically designed to fit on a coffee table or kitchen table with the 43" living room tv just in front of it

    Just on the way to halfords for some matt black and must drill the joystick mounting holes before I spray it later

    Its got some weight and these rubber feet I got will be great on any smooth surface so I'm confident it will be not going anywhere fast even when trying to pull street fighter special moves under pressure.

    I found some ebay sellers selling the marquee stickers so will be ordering

    Thanks to MajorFU

    so I finished it last night but need help with 2 things

    deleting my attachments to make way for new photos

    and setting the bloody thing up with p1 and p2 just for mame is enough

    retro pie just asked me to complete the basic playstation controls with no options for p2 so im assuming I have to create or edit a specific config file for mame and maybe some other emu for this p1 and p2 off 1 single ipac2 usb cable, seems to just emulate keystrokes ?

    While on holidays this week in Zante, I went to a bar that had a Bartop machine. Was alright as well. Sneaky fucker had put a coin slot on the side and had people paying for the use of it! Got me thinking about butchering my jukebox and making a Bartop.

    Looks great mate!

    Looking at the photos, I can see you've only used one keyboard encoder for both P1 and P2 - this is probably your problem, as the Pi is just recognising one USB input.

    It's actually working fine for just about anything except streetfighter 2 the button mapping are all fine, in say 1943 midway u can have both players simultaneously and you can for sf2 but for some reason there are 2 light punches and p1 is missing med kick and p12 is missing light kick and theyre all in stupid places.

    if someone can talk me through fixing the buttons for the fighting games its pretty much prefect but even as is it is still very good fun

    I just ordered the stickers, button mappings are as shown:

    p1
    sw1 = ctrl = lk
    sw2 = alt = lp
    sw3 = space = mp
    sw4 = shift = lp
    sw5 = z = hp
    sw6 = x = hk
    sw7 = c
    sw8 = v
    1up = 1
    coin up = 5

    p2
    sw1 = a = mp
    sw2 = s =lp
    sw3 = q lp
    sw4 = w = lk
    sw5 = I = hp
    sw6 = k = hk
    sw7 = j
    sw8 = l
    2up = 2
    coinup = 5

    Buttons are set out

    4568
    1237

    obviously desired config would be something like

    lp mp hp
    lk mk hk

    7&8 are unused for mame
