Default PRIX DE L'ARC DE TRIOMPHE TRENDS 2016

The Qatar Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe, one of the sporting highlights of the year, takes place at Longchamp on Sunday 2nd October. Generally considered as the most prestigious horse race run on the flat in Europe, it has been won by some true greats in the past 15 years including Montjeu, Sinndar, Dalakhani, Zarkava, Sea The Stars & Treve. Postponed will likely be sent off favourite for this year’s renewal, however there has only been one winner aged older than 4 since 1990.

Below we take a look at the trends for the past 10 years:

    Age (Win-Place-Runners)
    3yo: 7-8-71

3yos (7-8-72) have a superior record to the older horses (combined 3-13-91).
3 of 6 horses aged 5+ to make the frame finished in first 2 in previous year’s Arc.
Marienbard has been the only winner aged older than 4 since 1990.
