Soak them in a bucket of water/piss/beer overnight.
Will create a uniform look.
give them to the missus and tell her to get on with it
happens to me all the time mate and mines comes out perfectly after a bit of elbow grease, seriously, just run them under the shower and scrub them clean, you can put a little soap on them too mate..

The thought of shower and soap obviously gets you all confused Tam.
Best method is a flanel, soak in hot water, Srub them till the material is really dark but clean of stains.
Then get a hair dryer and just blow the warm air onto them gently,. dries them in a min or two. Good as new. Is your shoe.
nah.. i know! best stuff for it is the cleaning solution they have in footlocker. When i was in amercia they all use it on them.. gets stains off well good.
Footlockers stuff is just expensive water with foamy stuff in it.
Don't waste your money on it. Just use hot water and a flanel , either let it dry in front of a fire or hair dryer it.
Costs you nothing at the time and over in 5 mins.
Warm soapy water and a scrubbing brush or kitchen sink brush. Don't worry about getting them soaked.
I wouldn't recommend drying them out infront of a fire or hairdryer TBH. Let them dry naturally somewhere in doors.
Then spray with protector when dry.
Been doing this with mine for the past 5 years and still look great apart from scuffs due to every day wear and tear.

if your in london there are guys at most station offerering to clean your shoes, there at canary wharf also, since the timberland faze they have all had signs saying we clean nubuck, so you could just give it to them, there not that dear i dont think maybe £3-5, maybe try ya self first then if you fail give it a go.
I had a timberland rubber and brush which worked wonders on them, I boought a new one last time I went to the states which is a key ring in the shape of a boot. he's a link for one:
