Yeah mate been on it since day one as senior member
its very good, i play with logitech g27 on an 8 foot screen via projector, looks pretty sweet. We recently got a few of my all time fave tracks including Oulton Park and Snetterton looking really good now.

Not sure if you are the best role model for recreational drugs? ... but referring back to the two threads (two years ago / three months ago) in which we both chatted about the subject (an which I went into some detail) not a huge lot has changed to the game dynamics. Yeah, we have new tracks, new cars and a complete new menu system to fit in with console release but not much else has changed game wise... it has always been a looker.

as for game dynamics not changing! if i was to copy n paste the changelogs from a year n half ago it would take you a week to read through the actual changes..... the work that has gone into the physics in this game is ridiculous including input and actual real world testing from the former stig ben collins.

If you really wanna have a dabble at it then i suppose if you were to download it on steam, i could lend you my username and password for a bit whilst you have a play?
Where I agree they have made a zillion changes and I do love the game, I stand by that the dynamics has not changed much since the start... just tweaks.
This is not a 100% realistic simulator... its in the 90's, but also keeps a foot firmly in the arcade world. After all, they are building it for the console joypad market!
If you want dynamics and a true driving experience, Rfactor 2 is where you want to be (although you loose out on the graphics).
Oh... and Ben Collins is a twat of the highest order!
Well ive been on it from the very start and the dynamics as you like to call it have changed massively. If your finding it arcadey then you have too many assists on,try joining the weekly comps. the seta tyre model is one of the most unique out there and all arcade sims are purely based on what we call lookup tables so dunno where your goin with that. I also have rFactor2 and and still run the original rFactor (Which is still find better) I also have the monthly subscription to iRacing which is better than all of the aforementioned so if you want real Sim then thats actually where its at.
As for Ben Collins I have never met the chap so couldnt possibly comment on what he's like i only know what I read in the newspapers about him so that doesnt really count for much.
For a start I don't use assists, i never have (but thanks for the assumption). As for the dynamics of the game. Yes it has changed... in respect that they are always cocking about with tweaks, but the REAL end result of driving most cars has hardly changed in all the months/years it has been in development. The experience of driving something like a Lotus 49 is still much the same as driving it 2 years back. The biggest changes usually occur when they 1st bring a new car in and it drives like shit until they tweak it over the following weeks. However, whatever changes they make they always stop short when the real physics of the car would destroy the flow of the car/game... which is probably better for the game but not the dynamics of the simulation.
Stick anybody in any car on project cars with no assists... and give them a few laps practice and they will make it round the track in semi decent time.. Do the same on RF2 (and I agree there are others) and they will require much, much more practice even before they are able to do a clean lap.
Don't get me wrong PC is a great game and is currently my favorite game (and has been for a long while). It has a great balance of Sim v Arcade (I never once said it was too arcadey) But don't get disillusioned that is some kind of ultra simulation. It is not. No-one ever said it was, not even the developers. If you think you could drive a capri Zakspeeed in real life in the way it drives in PC, you would be in for a shock.
However, after saying all that, PC is a really well done game that is loads better than GT/Forza.

Just seen the clip. And it states Sounds make everything. But i think the sound isn't that great. Within the sample presented on youtube it is jacked up. I hear clipping within the sound. If this is done on purpose for the video i do not know. But on the high engine notes you here the sound being cut-off somehow. It hits a threshold. As if it is overpowered and hit the speaker limits. And i was way of the limits of my speakers. So it definitely needs more tweaking on the sound. In game sounds nice. But within the clip it is enhanced for the clip.
just a heads up: Assetto Corsa is £15 on steam (50% off). It's a superb sim racing game & I actually prefer it to rfactor 2.
There's also Road Redemption on Humble Bundle if you're looking for a real cheap deal for a racing game
