Seeing as Sab had a web interface I'd be surprised if any were lighter on resources, I think GrabIt was the only popular alternative.
I gave up on sabnzb about 2 years ago as it caused my qnap nas to grind to a halt - I've used nzbget ever since and it's much faster

Hey,
Still happily chugging away on my Mac Mini. Did you have it installed directly on your QNAP or on a server/other machine?
I recently had an issue with my NAS (not QNAP) dying but I found out it was the Twonky server that was installed on it. I turned that off as all of the devices I use are DLNA and therefore do not need Twonky in order to run.
Another issue was that everything was in the same folder and therefore my music collection was killing my server and NAS because I was pointing Subsonic at it and the indexing would kill it. I solved that issue by running Subsonic on a Raspberry Pi B+ and pointed it to a new music directory/share on the NAS.
Everything runs nicely now and the bonus is that the Raspberry Pi is even powered by the USB socket on the router!
