    Question Fresh Install: Recommended Programs?

    Hi Guys,

I have just this second completed a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit after being advised to avoid Windows 8. What programs would you recommended me? I have installed MS Security Essentials already and Dropbox as it has my program list on it but it has 130,000+ files to sync apparently...

What ISO program(s) would you install to cover everything? Burning, Creating, Editing, Mounting etc. One program if possible?

not really what you were asking for , but I use http://ninite.com

select all the apps you want to install, click get installer, and install them all with one easy .exe

    7 Thanks given to CallmeGoose

TypeItIn never without it on any new machine I get it's one of the first things I put on, most people won't get it as I didn't when it was first recommended to me but the advice I was given when I tried it was to give it a week and really try and use it and you won't ever want to be without it.

So IMG Burn for burning and Power ISO for mounting? Or Power ISO for everything?

i was going to say ninite too, cant live without that site and you should try 'everything' on there, its similar to windows search but its absolutely instantaneous, i use it all the time now as its often quicker to type a file name and use that to find it than it is to click through windows, even when you know where the file is.

After re-installing and whacking on all the available Windows updates I stick on:

    Putty
    7-zip
    Dropbox
    iCloud control panel
    Coreavc

    and that's me done.

Grab the contents of your old:
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\
folder and dump it in same location on your new install.
    Do same for:
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\
then fire up Outlook and it should upgrade your old profile automatically.
