Recently upgraded my GPU to a R9 390X 8Gb and the Northbridge on my Motherboard is getting so hot, the motherboard shuts itself off.

Definitely nothing to do with my Corsair 750w PSU. So gather it's because the GPU is pulling more power.

Is there a way to solve it or should I now also replace my Motherboard?
It's a Gigabyte GA-970-US3.
