Default Introductions and Interests ! NAS's & Media

    Hi all,
I'm from yorkshire. I guess my interests are really media based.

I have built a HP N54L into a media NAS using XPENOLOGY to share my media.
Also bought another N54L to learn about creating Virtual Machines.
    (Good cash back offer)

I have a Humax HDR Box with custom firmware on it to allow me to live stream and stream recordings. a couple of jail broken ATV's running XBMC, and a NOW TV running Plex (Great value for money) and my tvs also stream DNLA content.
Interested in getting Itunes setup as a service under some type of VM ..

    Any Questions Please Ask !

    10 Thanks given to CBRboy

    welcome.

Nice intro. Lots of N54l owners on here. Lots runing WHS 2011, expenology etc.

You want to get plex on the jb atv too. Xbmc has been made redundant in our house with plex running on just about everything now. phones. ipad, atv, now tv's.

Thanks, Forgot to mention plex connect just got that on the ATV's .. How do you manage your music on your ATV, I find having a Itunes server is still the best, despite Plex offering music library, I find it not as easy to manage.. Especially podcasts !!

Welcome to Digital Forums. Forum etiquette is quite high on the list here, like in real life you treat others with respect and you equally get it back. Contributing to the threads with good constructive posts gets you noticed for all the good reasons. with time your post count will go up and you will have full use of the forum. This has been put in place to stop Spammers,Leechers and generally 1 post users that want something for nothing, they try and get it and go.

Digital forums has been going years and has a large fan base. some actually pay for the privilege and they get bonuses over non sub people. With time you will build up friends and likewise you will be seen here as someone that can contribute to the DF Community.
    Enjoy your stay

Welcome to DF CBRboy. Good intro. Apart from your media interests, would I be correct in assuming you also ride a motorcycle? (">

Sounds like you'll fit right in Which Humax FW are you using? I have the hummy FW on mine, haven't ever really used the added features but I have auto-decode setup and web access so I can take shows off if I wanted to. Tbh I don't record many shows but wanted the option of pausing live TV like with my old BT Vision box.

Nice intro mate, welcome to the forums
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

I did, a bit on the track up at Cadwell, and roadriding, until a driver took me out.. as much as I'd like to get back on one, I'd feel for the family, they were the ones that saw me in hospital for 8 months ! , perhaps I'll get back on the trackdays sometime.. A bit safer in my eyes..

Using Raydon’s Media and File Server Bundle , with a Foxsat HDR, the main advantage to me is the built in DNLA so I can view recordings from any TV in the house, however I am using Sickbeard more and more to grab my fav tv shows, so the recording feature is becoming a little redundant,

    Thanks to CBRboy
