    Photos Dent & Dent Station

Dentdale, North Yorkshire, and the village of Dent & the Dent Railway - the highest main line station in England, at 1150 feet above sea level. And it's at the top of bloody steep hill...

The lack of light and sets a fantastic mood on the pictures. Also the colours are fantastic, the brickwork pops out at you.

    Sure it wasnt Roysten Vasey??

    Thanks to Ginnerfreak

Although the town of Royston Vasey is a ficticious creation, most of the locations are shot in a place called Hadfield somewhere near Manchester. But it could so easily have been Dent...

When I was in school many many years ago they used to own one of the houses in Dent and we used to go there in big groups (the villagers must have hated us). Takes me back seeing these pictures, I think the house was on that road in picture 5 on the left hand side.

If you follow that road round I think it leads to the post office and a small row of houses.

It's small, but really worth it. Such narrow streets in the village too.

    Broadband?

    The village probably won't..

The railway has no bloody mobile signal. But there was a telephone to the station master to check train times!

Beautiful shots mate. I must take William there, I think he'd really love it there, plus I would too.

B.I.G, you didn't go to Prescot did you? That's where I went and they used to use Dent as the place to go to before changing to Nidderdale.

    Thanks to dpSparhawk

There's little to do Ian to be honest (except take photos) but the area is outstanding.

Lack of decent broadband and mobile signal is the only reason I have never moved to the countryside.

looks like a movie set, everything is so clean and well maintained. You'll have the tourist board buying your shots if you're lucky

Just looked on google maps where you took that photo you were stood right outside the house we used to go to. Patio doors out the back right out into a graveyard just what a gang of 12 year olds need a spooky church with bells ringing in the middle of the night and a graveyard in the garden.

    Thanks to B.I.G.
