We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.
We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.
We’ll have more information for you in the near future.

That is only on about the US release not that I have any hope for the uk release date which I think is on the 5th

it's just a game. I'm sure half life 2 got delayed a bajillion times and some people declared it as awful when it arrived. It'll come when it comes and it'll either be great, shit or somewhere in between. Whatever it is though, it'll still be just a game (of which there are plenty)

Also, this wouldn't be related to the recent PS3 jailbreaks? Giving Sony a few more months to fight the cat and mouse game, to prevent losing a lot of money on this game?

I bought my PS3 for two reasons :

1. To watch bluray movies
2. To play GT5

Here I am two years down the line from that and there is another delay. After the "demo" from the beginning of the year I wasn't holding out much hope for it being any good - that was terrible.

Not impressed with all this crap but I'm still willing to give it a chance. Problem is I'm not sure it's going to be all that now. I'll probably just end up playing Prolog to death - been playing more of that recently and it's great fun with a few mates trying to better each others times

+1 I think this will come with the fw update on disc, as it's in dev'd house it's an ideal opportunity to push the release, slip in the fw update etc.
