    Help VIrgin media wirless issue

    I've got a speed problem with my VM wifi, and I feel like they are giving me the run-around with it, but I wanted to check others' experiences.

    Got the original superhub.
    Wired connection runs at 50mb, no problem.
    Wireless (less than 5 metres away, no obstacles), runs anywhere between 8-15mb.

    I've done the whole reboot, changing channels etc etc, and nothing has helped. Customer Services are telling me that there must be more competition in the local area for wireless signals as more people are using wifi these days and so that is bringing the speed down. And there's nothing they or I can do about it.

    There's a certain logic to that...but I don't really buy it. I've been using VM wifi for years...and now all of a sudden it is unusable?

    Any advice would be appreciated

    I had similar problems assumed it was because the WiFi signal from the into isn't great after a checking and getting similar results at other peoples houses also on virgin, I just put it in modem mode and bought a asus n66. WiFi all-round the house and garden now at decent speeds too.

    Thanks mate.

    Hopefully sorted now as I folded faster than an origami swan. After being all pissed off at them, I called up and upgraded my package.

    If that still doesn't work though I'll pick up a separate router.

    Have you got an android phone? If so, try downloading Wifi Analyser so you can see which devices are using which channels around you. You may be able to identify a channel that isn't very congested.
