    Help Which drive

A little while ago I read something on here saying you could identify the drive by removing the front face plate and looking through the hole at the cables.

just spent the last half hour looking for that post but fucked if I can find it again.

Can someone point me in the right direction please ?

    Cheers for that.

Any way of removing the microsoft label to keep it intact ?

Just noticed my Elite has a white paper one as opposed to the old silver strip ones.

i 2nd that, pretty easy to do, you only have to get one half of the label off anyway, just leave the other part connected to the top/bottom of the case.

The white labels are piss, but do not remove it, leave it on.
Undo the back 7 latches, and front left clip, then heat up the white sticker for 30 seconds or so, and undo the other clips and slide the bottom half of the case off....the sticker will remain perfectly intact. The only thing you have to then remember is to make sure you dont catch it when you put the case back together.

Easiest way is hair-dryer and sharp knife or razor-blade, heat it up and use knife / blade to get corner up and then just slowly peel off, I just stick mine on some waxed paper till I need to use them again then just put back on no problems.

MS didn't used to bother if there was one on there or not when they had a massive influx of consoles in for repair. Now it has quietened down a little they seem to be just sending them back.
