US girl, nine, in gun lesson mishap

A nine year-old girl in the US has killed her shooting instructor by accident while being shown how to use a high-powered automatic weapon.


The instructor was giving the girl a lesson at a shooting range in Arizona when the recoil from the first shot caused her to lose control of the Uzi.


Charles Vacca, 39, was shot in the head and died after being airlifted to a hospital in Las Vegas.


The girl was at the shooting range with her parents, officials say.


The accident happened on Monday at Last Stop shooting range in White Hills, Arizona.


Correspondents say it is common in parts of the US for children to be taught how to use firearms.


Many firing ranges have strict safety rules on instructing children. It is not clear what age limits the range has.

i remember being in vegas a few years ago (about 5 i think) and all the cabs around the place were advertising the gun range so it seemed quite popular

Sure they said on the News report I saw it was 8 years old but didn't elaborate as to if this was the shooting ranges rules, some sort of legislation or insurance conditions.

Americans will never learn. They used the Sandy Hook school massacre as a pedestal to promote guns and "BUY MORE GUNS". I remember being in a heated debate with a bunch of Americans a few years back about some guy who bought his new born son a gun licence - fucking moron.

They've stepped up the advertising. I was in Las Vegas last year and they are advertising in the airport now. Straight off the plane, shoot a gun! This is the actual poster from the airport.
