I got the email for that too and ordered one.
Going to take the boy swimming soon so want to capture some of it, for £35 it's ideal.
Will no doubt come on Holidays with us in the future and prove useful. Yes the quality is not fantastic, but for the kids...

If it's any consolation I went out Mountainbiking with my Dad (who's in his 60's) a few weeks ago and he fell off probobally 3-4 times with great comedy effect due to not being able to get his spd's unclipped.
Maybe I should invest in one of these cameras could make my money back from you've been framed in no time at all.

I want something for my up and coming holiday but 10 metre depth isn't enough as I would have liked it for a SCUBA dive I have planned for said trip. Would be perfect for kitesurfing though...hmmmm, will wait for Goldberg's review.

im a technical mixed gas rebreather diver and have gopro and contour cameras both with 60m housings, below 10m in uk and about 20-25 in warm, blue waters they are pretty useless due to the light levels

the contour gps camera is awesome as a helmet camera when on my motorbikes though

    Thanks to tiggerbiker

Can you let me know what it's like ? Looking for something cheap and cheerful myself and had almost bought the £50 sj1000 Chinese thing. What mounts does it come with ?

I'd be careful filming in a public swimming pool by the way. I got thrown out once filming my step daughter even though I made sure no one else was in shot.

    Default HD action camera

These are the mounts. A helmet mount and a handlebar mount.

The camera it's self is pretty small, has a touch screen but the touch screen does not work with the waterproof case on. Therefore you have to set it up for record, shoot or travel record mode.
Touch screen is responsive for the size but picture is shite.

Did a quick underwater vid of the boy tonight, need to hook upto the computer to see the quality and if it has sound or not.

Overall it's a £35 camera. I think personally you will probably upgrade not long after buying until you got a go pro. It's a toy basically but for my needs will be fine.

Issues I can see is that switching modes from shoot (only 5mp) to record means taking it out of the case. This does take seconds so not a big deal but something likely to get on your tits.

It's very cheaply made too. Seems sturdy enough but I am not sure how many drops without the case it would take.

So without seeing the video, is it worth £35 - yes. I would never pay £50+ for it though which is he amazon price.

I cannot really help any further with decision making but it will do for my needs which is to capture the boys first swimming pool experience in a couple of weeks.

As for the pool, we have a temporary 12m pool in the local leisure centre. Going to ask permission first of course but hopefully it will be ok.

I've just been reading reviews and it seems the battery life varies wildly from unit to unit. Some people reporting an hour some as low as 10 mins.

tbf an hour is probably too short for what I want but still considering it for £35

The one I've been looking at is this...
