    Default Gumtree jokers

So im selling a phone, listed at 400 quid.

Some bloke calls and offers £250.

Do people actually think that they will find an idiot on the other end of the call that will say 'ok yeah, deal'?

    What a joker...

You are going the wrong way ZX7R...I offer £251.

Does sound like the bloke needs some bartering lessons...150 off does seem quite an insult.

Why does "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean
    the same thing?

    What's best price for cash?

That's the one that annoys me most. Like you was going to accept payment in cheeses instead.

Well whilst lessons are being given.... the word is haggling. Bartering is offering services for goods - for example cutting someone's grass in exchange for a 400 quid phone.

Suffix: no offers, ovno, ono....... otherwise expect haggling, I even get people trying to get guitar lessons cheaper. . . . .

I had actually written haggling, but was trying to be smart. That kind of backfired

One of my best pranks or to get someone back is to use above sites and others to sell a pair of technic 1210 decks usually 50% cheaper than market price , then watch there phone ring none stop for 48 hrs

I've used it recently and had nothing but a good experience, far better than eBay. Sold computer gear, phones and some camera lenses. Out of 6 sales I have had one no-show.

Definitely better than eBay PROVIDED you exercise common sense.

I have noticed a huge increase of Eastern Europeans using Gumtree lately.
Speaking of which, anyone held a sale at a car boot lately? Swarming with them!!

Bit of a generalization there m8 - all Eastern Europeans are thieving cunts? I don't think so

Not sure why being from Eastern Europe would even be an issue - there is a good amount of gumtree scam stuff from people in the uk

Didn't call them thieves, just the majority of buyers on Gumtree and Boot Sales from what I've seen.

    --edit
Not calling it a bad thing, just hugely noticeable!
