    Help Streaming to PS3

    Hi guys im all setup and connect on the playstation network but it says Upnp failed when i did a test will this stop me from streaming? If not then im having an issue with streaming files , i have setup WMP 11 its all working , and the UNKNOWN DEVICE (PS3) is set to allow and my folders are there but they dont seem to be showning on the ps3 , the folders do but no files?

    if you go to a folder and press triangle does it give you the option to 'show all'? If it does do that it should show the files?

    Apologies if this is a bit of an hi-jack, but my kids have a PS3 coming off father xmas - can u stream movies direct to it? Wirelessly?

    I had similar problems a while back, I could'nt get it to work at all with XP and media player 11. But once a new comp arrived with Vista it worked fine. That was until I changed firewalls, I had to drop the firewall and it worked fine (pinpointing the problem to the firewall). A setting on the firewall (Easy setting instead of advanced) also did the trick.

    firewall was stopping it

    i drop all my files in the shared music folder videos pic or whatever they all work then you still select the video folder on the ps3 even though its in the music for some reason this works lol so if your stuck try that

    you should also try nero media ,you can down load trial from there site (nero)easy set up

    I was using TVersity for a while on the PS3. I've changed to a share now on my Linux box. Works fine but TVersity was better over wirless as it would transcode to a slightly lower bitrate.
