    Default Browser of choice.

Inspired a bit from this: http://www.digital-forums.com/showth...ozilla-Firefox

What is everyones browser of choice at the moment?

I've been a user of Firefox for a long time, but I have to now concur, it's dragging its arse. I'm considdering switching to something, but what?

Aside from Chrome, Firefox and IE what choices do we now have that are decent?

    Tor? Opera? Dragon?

I use to be a Firefox-er but ever since having android phones chrome just rocks! Stuff like 'Chrome to Phone' and the linked searching with google now - all very creepy with the data it scrapes but ever so useful.

    IE can suck my balls!

I am a chrome user now, syncing stuff across to my Android phone and the extensions for blocking ads on youtube etc are worth it alone

Well yeah thats great, but I've never had anyhijacks either or problems with speed as such using Firefox.

I'm kinda looking for more techie reasoning as to why one browser is better than another.

    For example:

    http://www.ghacks.net/2014/01/02/chr...mory-use-2014/

But for other browsers. You know, reasons to shop elsewhere so to speak.

Well in that case I find (depends if you need) when debugging sites, the inspect element amongst other tools seems to work better and I have found bugs I was unable to using other browsers !!!

Saying that I have been using it predominantly now for best part of a year so it is fair to say other browsers may have had updates/improvements e.t.c

Firefox for years (V2 – 3.5) and then switched to Chrome and never looked back. Rocking it on the iPhone too.

Firefox was diabolical back in 2008 when Tabs (and Google Chrome) were new and they dropped the ball. Open more than 3 and Firefox and IE froze up. Chrome didn't. Things are improving on all 3 major browsers - (including IE), but Chrome is still setting the standard - World Wide Browser stats (over half the planet on Chrome)

I really love the 2 click "remove extension" if anything attaches itself to Chrome too.
Digging deep inside the settings to remove that annoying Malware infested program is an arse ache.

I agree the large drawback to Chrome is the tracking, but if you don't sign in and use annonymisers. Chrome is the perfect browser.
Google track usage and stats to improve themselves (mostly). So long as your not hiding anything, what have you got to worry about?

Mozilla Firefox has been around since 2004 and is @ v28.
Google Chrome came alive in 2008 and is now at v34.
Internet Explorer has been around since the dinosaurs and is at v11.

The only thing this really shows is that the developers are reaching goals quicker at Google. So in my mind, they are working harder to bring a better product out.
The variations of each browser is running off the framework of the original, so if you start with a pig, it'll still be a pig.

    Firefox alternatives - http://www.howtogeek.com/108608/6-al...zilla-firefox/
    Chrome alternatives - http://www.howtogeek.com/108384/6-al...google-chrome/
Internet Explorer alternatives - See all of the above.

You still have the TOR browser and PirateBrowser based on FF, but I believe that's only because Firefox was more established at the time.

So what say about other browsers based on Chromium then? Comodo Dragon is Chrome without the tracking?

    Torch, Flock or Epic?
