Have 2 potential "joiners in" for the sharing the cost of UK maps if it goes ahead, my and a mate both have 7610's.

This deal expires on 25/09/2004 - if we don't have enough confirmed by then we'll all just have to wait until the UK map gets released.

A few things for you to ponder on before you read the "deal"

1. The cost of the software by itself is €199 or £135
2. I can get the hardware pack for £20 more than the cost of the software by itself
3. I will purchase the pack, collect the money and release the map
4. I can get BT GPS receivers for about £55 > £60

The Deal
The hardware pack contains a BlueTooth GPS receiver and the software ona RS-MMC card with an adaptor. For me to keep the BT GPS receiver and the RS-MMC card (because I am getting a 7610) I will pay £70. That means that we need 4 people to pay £21.25 for a copy of the map file which is pretty much what Malty suggested in the first place. As soon as I have 4 people confirmed, the deal is closed. It is up to these 4 people to get the software, I will only supply the UK map file to you (it is freely available). I will require the £21.25 paid into my Paypal account before you get sent the file.

If you don't like the fact that I am only paying £70 then don't bother trying to get involved. If you can get the hardware pack at the price I can then run your own deal and take more of the cost yourself. At the end of the day I am organising this (with the help of Malty) so I get the best part of the deal - live with it.

Anyone know the actual size of the map ? Am wondering if there will be any spare space on a 256meg MMC card before I go and order one. If it uses 255.9Meg then will order a bigger one so my phone has some spare space.

Not 100% certain of this but i think you will need a 256Mb MMC card for this software with the UK map.

Give me a shout if you need one as I can get them cheap.

i´ve got the maps of spain, portugal, germany, athens, benelux, italy, alps and france, the cracked apps v1.0 v1.3 and v1.4 and several speech updates (+25% volume, and with a break for use in car-sets)

i can confirm that the app + map is 168MB

gb map is 139MB named GBRIRL.prm ... get searching for it

AFAIK the gb map hasnt been released to the scene yet. Although some people definately have it, its not vaporware

found files with the name gbrirl but not in the prm format, they in .loc u heard of this, theres about two each 90 meg? then one for 3 meg, so whos the geezer thats got the file, thought i saw a post saying he had it?
